New investments of PKP S.A.

Poland: PKP S.A. – Polish State Railways S.A. seeks co-investors for city centre projects in Kraków, Wrocław and Gdynia

Kraków, Wrocław and Gdynia are among the biggest cities in Poland, each with its extraordinary architecture and history. The state railway company PKP S.A. plans to develop its city-centre land holdings in all three cities. This may be one of the biggest real estate investments by PKP S.A. jointly with private entities.

1. Krakow: some 1.4 hectares beside the main railway station in Bosacka Street in the heart of the city will feature newbuild commercial architecture. This perfect site offers a future co-investor many opportunities: it is ideal for a hotel and only 1.2 km from the Old Town Square. The plan also anticipates restoration of surrounding monuments and laying transport infrastructure.

2. Gdynia: 14.4 hectares of empty city-centre land in the immediate neighbourhood of the main railway station enables various investment possibilities. The area is very well linked to other parts of the Trójmiasto Conurbation: Gdańsk, Gdynia and Sopot with more than 750 000 residents. The plan is to build a megastore, hotel, offices, residential area and car parks.

3. Wrocław: the investment consists of developing the surroundings of Świebodzki Railway Station. The 28-hectare area is situated in the picturesque old part of Wrocław just 1 km from the Old Town Market. Plans are complex and include building a modern train transfer hub, which will allow railway traffic to Świebodzki Station, along with renovating the old railway station and building a new one. Part of the area is also designated for commercial property.
