Lithuania: Employers to file information on employee professions.
As before, employers must still notify the Lithuanian social insurance institution (Sodra) each time they hire a new employee. But now the notice includes not only the usual information (e.g. employee name, surname, personal code), but also a 4-digit code indicating the employee’s profession under the Lithuanian profession classifier.
Note: employers must start by informing Sodra of professions of existing employees. The deadline for doing so had already expired by 1 March 2014.
Notifications can be filed via the internet, by mail or directly at Sodra branches.
The information gathered will be used in developing a map of specialist qualifications for the purpose of ensuring that business is supplied by an adequately qualified workforce.
