Since 2011 bnt Bratislava has been participating in the Pontis foundation project Advokáti Pro Bono, which involves gratis legal support to non-profit organizations (NPOs). We help to promote justice in society, to protect the public interest and the rights of the poorest. By providing legal support to NPOs the project brings legal knowledge and services closer to the people and makes the activities of NPOs more effective. Associations, foundations and other initiatives can offer long-term and effective support to a greater number of children, senior citizens, people with mental or physical disabilities, homeless people, families in crisis, refugees and the environment.
To date bnt has advised on the following matters:
- Etipo Citizens’ Initiative. Legal Opinion on supplying services in return for 2 % of taxes.
- Odyseus Citizens’ Initiative. Legal advice on conditions under which quick tests for HIV, HCV and syphilis antibodies from capillary blood can be performed.
- Pontis Foundation. Setting up a contractual system for the pilot Material Donations project (Vecné dary), which will link offers by corporate donors with the needs of beneficiaries from the non-profit sector.
- P-MAT, non-profit organization. Setting up general contractual terms and conditions and legal support for rules of new „Physics Film Festival” competition.
- Pontis Foundation. Legal support regarding loan agreement for patients in the „Better life with MS” scheme.
- Prima Citizens’ Initiative. Memorandum: Is it a criminal offence to possess narcotic and psychotropic substances when collecting syringes and needles used by drug addicts, as this material includes remnants of those substances?
- Slovak Blind and Partially-Sighted Union. Legal opinion on establishing branch offices of a citizens’ initiative, where the branch office is autonomous from the legal point of view, but remains part of the citizens’ initiative.
- Slovak Governance Institute. Legal concept for agreement on cooperation with the person who became (gratis) the „face” of the odkazprestarostu.sk. portal
- Ulita Citizens’ Initiative. Legal advice on further steps in case of violation of agreement by the supplier and legal representation in further negotiation with the supplier in order to enforce the return of advance payments andcontractual penalty.
- Slovak Blind and Partially-Sighted Union. Legal assistance in setting conditions for ensuring influence of an organisation as the founder over activities of a company based thereby.
- Human rights league. Legal advice to the client of an organisation – an alien with additional protection in connection with the establishment of a limited liability company
