The authors of the reconstruction project have announced that the costs for the first construction phase of the open-air festival stage will exceed EUR 23 million. Contrary to initial plans and subsequent calculations, the overall maximum spectator intake will be increased to a staggering 30,000 seats, thus allowing for over 7,000 additional spectators to enjoy upcoming events. Similarly, the area occupied by the stage itself will increase to 50,000 square metres.
To efficiently cater for increased spectator numbers, the infrastructure of the surrounding area will be substantially upgraded, with the final project entailing underground shopping areas, a medical assistance centre and similar amenities.
Construction to conclude in 2018.
