Foreign citizens arriving for over five days can now register via the unified e-services portal
From January 2019 remote e-registration for foreign citizens and stateless persons is operating in Belarus.
Previously, registration of foreign citizens was only by personal application to departments of citizenship and migration of internal affairs bodies or in hotels and health-resort institutions.
Foreign citizens arriving in Belarus should register their stay there within 5 days (excluding Sundays and public holidays). There are preferences for citizens of some countries: Russians are excused from registration for 90 days from the date of entry while citizens of Lithuania, Latvia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan must register 30 days from the date of entry.
For e-registration it is necessary to apply to the unified e-services web-site portal (https://portal.gov.by).
The service is available after passing an easy authentication (login / password). Once authenticated, the user gets access to a personal account, where they can order corresponding services from the category “Citizenship and migration”. Applications can be completed in Russian or English. The service is free.
Notice of acceptance or rejection of application as well as the result will be reflected in an account in the “Current Services” section.
A foreign citizen’s representative (other person) can also register a foreigner on the unified e-services portal from their personal account by filing an application with the foreigner’s data.
